Dr. Yetty Shobo is the Director of the Virginia Department of Health Professions Healthcare Workforce Data Center and Data Analytics Division. She was previously the Deputy Director of the Center from November 2015 to April 2022. She holds a doctorate in human science from Saybrook University and a Master’s degree in public and international affairs and a certificate in demography from Princeton University. Her Bachelor’s degree is in mathematics and statistics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She also holds a professional certificate in Data Science from Duke University.
Dr. Shobo is a data scientist and researcher with several presentations, publications, and podcasts. In her current position, she oversees healthcare workforce research and policies, the regulation of health professions, strategic planning and operations, as well as data governance and analytics in Virginia. She is the creator of several dashboards that provide customizable healthcare workforce data to the public and empower public involvement in healthcare workforce programs and policies. She is a key member of the Virginia Longitudinal Data System Data Governance Committee and the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers.
