The Office of Primary Care and Rural Health (OPCRH) collects information on the primary care, mental health, and dental workforces (with the Oral Health Program) for the purposes of determining health workforce shortage areas within the state and applying for designations. Previously collected additional information on health workforce; that function is currently being absorbed into a larger workforce and health services inventory mandated last year by the legislature. The precise role of OPCRH going forward is unclear, simply because the process is so new.
