Social mission is gaining distinction as a key pillar of health professions education. Due to ongoing racial and health inequalities exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, there is increased interest in in incorporating social mission into health professions curriculum.

This article examines the scope of social mission content in major US and Canadian health professions education accreditation standards.
