The Vermont Department of Health works with licensing organizations in the state to collect workforce data at the time of relicensing, which occurs every 2 years. Data are collected using profession-specific surveys with a particular focus on active patient care in Vermont. Over 40 professions are surveyed and more than half of those have reports currently available on the website. We use this information to determine health workforce shortage areas and provide baseline and trending information on health care workforce supply to support planning and program efforts.
