A study conducted in 2008 found that while physician assistant (PA) education program directors acknowledged the importance of teaching about the relationship between oral health and overall health, few programs had actually integrated oral health education into the PA curriculum.

This article describes the inclusion of oral health education in PA programs and evaluates the content and implementation of the instruction.
